I now expect President Buhari to back up his Glasgow climate summit speech with a programme that involves him laying down the gauntlet to Nigeria’s billionaire investors

[1] You must build an 850km Calabar to Badagry wind farm
[2] You must manufacture 10m solar panels a year
[3] All generators used in Nigeria must be manufactured locally
[4] All transformers used in Nigeria must be manufactured by you
[5] You must invest in a mega 30,000MW new hydro-electric plant at Lokoja
[6] You must build a 10,000 MW gas-fired power plant at Yenagoa
[7] You must build the world’s largest waste-to-fuel plant at Epe in Lagos State
[8] By 2025, Nigeria must start mass-producing electric cars
[9] Each of you must float a rail franchise as part of our programme to move traffic off the road
[10] Each of you will give up your private jets. Their carbon footprint is simply too large and you should set a good example by forfeiting that luxury
