Seun Kuti: No Scientific Evidence Linking Marijuana to Any Disease
Grammy-nominated afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has suggested that the Nigerian government should consider legalizing marijuana. He argued that there is no proven evidence linking marijuana use to any disease and emphasized that Nigeria has lost its unique strain of marijuana due to the ban on it in the country.
In an Instagram live session with fans, Kuti pointed out that many countries, including Israel, which is considered a "Holy Land" by Nigerian Christians, have legalized marijuana. He highlighted that African countries used to have the best marijuana in the world, but the strain was lost because of the lack of encouragement for cultivation.
Kuti questioned whether the Nigerian government has independently conducted any research on marijuana use. He cited examples of Western countries, such as Germany, France, Britain, and America, discussing or already legalizing marijuana. He also mentioned that Israel, considered the 'holy land,' is at the forefront of medical marijuana research.
