Producers of BBNaija Disclose Expenditure of N5.5 Billion on the Show
The Executive Head of Content & West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, Dr. Busola Tejumola, disclosed on Tuesday that the Big Brother Naija reality show spent a total of N5.5 billion during the 71-day-long Season 8 All-Stars show. This revelation was made during the prize presentation ceremony for the winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, in Ilupeju, Lagos State.
Dr. Tejumola provided a breakdown of the expenses, mentioning that the significant amount covered production costs, construction, fittings, technical aspects, licensing, satellite, and marketing. Additionally, he shared that approximately 2,000 people were employed over the 71 days to handle various tasks related to the production of the show.
“As Africa’s most loved storyteller, we are proud to be part of creating opportunities for growth for the youth in their quest to build great futures. The Big Brother All Stars has been a Season of love, rekindled and new friendships, settling scores, comedic moments, fantastic showcase of talent and a battle for dominance,” remarked Tejumola.
The All-Stars edition, which premiered on July 23 with 21 housemates, lasted for 70 days and featured twists and intrigues. The finalists for the BBNaija All-Stars edition included Mercy, CeeC, Cross, Adekunle, Ilebaye, and Pere. This season included selected former housemates from previous editions such as Pepper Dem, Double Wahala, See Gobe, among others. Notable returning housemates included Alex, Neo, Uriel, Angel, Seyi Awolowo, Pere, Uriel, and Princess, among others.
