Eagles begin arriving in camp ahead of Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Ghana

MEMBERS of the Super Eagles have begin arriving in camp ahead of Friday’s World Cup play-off against Ghana’s Black Stars with about six players having arrived this morning with the bulk of them expected later on today.

On Friday, Nigeria will play the first leg of the World Cup play-off in Ghana and then four days later on the 29th, the return leg will take place in Abuja. Today, the camp opened with Watford defender and vice captain of the team, William Troost-Ekong, Brentford’s Frank Onyeka and Leon Balogun of Glasgow Rangers being the first to check in.

Al Hilal of Saudi attacker, Odion Ighalo, Torino’s Ola Aina and West Bromwich Albion’s Semi Ajayi are the other players in camp at the moment. Team skipper Ahmed Musa arrived in Nigeria on Sunday but is yet to report to camp as he is thought to be in Kano.

A majority of the 25 invited players are expected in camp today. Umar Sadiq’s Spanish club Almeria, sought permission for the player to arrive later than others so he could feature in today’s league game against Tenerife.
