Sadiq Umar’s time with Almeria may be coming to an end after Borrusia Dortmund made a €25 million bid for the Nigeria international, according to NIGERIANWATCH Sports.
Dortmund is looking for a striker and has identified the Super Eagles striker as the ideal player to help them compete for titles next season, according to the Spanish publication FtbolFantasy.
Sadiq has been in excellent form for Almeria for the past two seasons, scoring 38 goals and registering 19 assists in 74 La Liga 2 appearances.
During the summer transfer window, Villarreal, Real Sociedad, and Valencia were all linked with the former AS Roma forward due to his performance.
Surprisingly, Dortmund has entered the race for the Nigerian, with the Spanish publication fueling speculation that the player had already left his house at El Toyo and had not renewed his rent, presumably in preparation for a move to Germany.
“Umar Sadiq’s future at UD Almera is uncertain after the club received a €25 million bid for the 25-year-old Nigerian striker on Tuesday,” the website wrote.
“According to FtbolFantasy, his representative agency, the CAA Base, has also received a contract proposal to persuade the footballer, surpassing the record that he now receives in the Rojiblanca entity.”
“In addition, the Almera press reports today that the striker left his house in El Toyo this morning (Wednesday), having moved from his previous residence on Camino del Bobar (Vega de Acá) less than a year ago.” He has not renewed his rental contract to stay in this chalet because he is unsure whether he will continue to defend the UDA shield. His home will be determined by market conditions, and recent events have Almeria fans on high alert.”
Meanwhile, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told Sportschau.de that the club will soon sign a striker.
“So I believe we’ll do something different in terms of personnel.” A truly excellent solution is also difficult to find because the market’s selection is limited.
“Ideally, something will occur within the next eight to ten days.”
