Ogun disburses gratuities to 564 local government pensioners
Benedict Ademoye, the Chairman of the Local Government Pensioners Association of Nigeria in Ogun State, has announced that the state government has disbursed gratuities to 564 local government retirees. In a statement provided to journalists on Thursday, Ademoye expressed gratitude for the support received from Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration, noting that it has alleviated the financial struggles of pensioners and reduced the impact on their health. He further mentioned that the governor recently released an additional N1.9 billion, which was utilized to settle gratuities for 369 retired local government workers.
Ademoye emphasized, "It's important to acknowledge Governor Dapo Abiodun's unwavering support for local government pensioners. Over the past year, 564 pensioners have received their full gratuities. The recent allocation of N1.9 billion for outstanding gratuities was a significant milestone, benefiting 369 local government pensioners.
"Funds were allocated to pensioners facing medical challenges from their overdue gratuities. Notably, in the past year, no pensioner associated with the organization passed away due to insufficient funds for medical expenses."
