The BUA chair has reappointed the head of the France Nigeria Business Council.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Founder and Chairman of BUA Group, one of Africa’s leading food, mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure enterprises, has been reappointed as President of the France Nigeria Business Council by French President Emmanuel Macron.
This was revealed at the France Nigeria Business Council’s July 2022 meeting in Paris.
In his address to the council, Samad Rabiu thanked members for attending and stated that being a member of the France Nigeria Business Council was a particular honor.
He also stated that it was a delight to serve as the first President of the Council, established a little over a year ago, and that he was honored to be reappointed to lead the organization.
He also praised Macron for his support and reappointed him as President of the Council and Jean Haas of Relais (France) as Head of the Secretariat.
The France Nigeria Commercial Council brings together leading enterprises in Nigeria and France to develop business connections between the two nations while assuring routine collaboration that would result in enormous economic advantages for both.
Rabiu went on to commend the France Nigeria Business Council’s success since its inception and the members’ resolve to move forward with diverse relationships despite the delayed global recovery.
Some of Nigeria’s largest banks have ambitions to establish subsidiaries in France. In contrast, BUA has partnered with Axens of France to create a 200,000bpd refinery in Akwa Ibom State, among other important projects by members.
He also encouraged members of this council to continue looking for partnership opportunities while planning, cooperating, and adding value to one another so that the successes that have already been achieved can be scaled up for the mutual economic benefit of Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, and France, a global economic leader.
It is also predicted that under Rabiu’s current tenure, working subcommittees and sectoral groups would be formed to improve the council’s performance.
