As a result of the consistent sounds of gunfire that have been heard in the region, inhabitants of Kuje, which is located in the Federal Capital Territory, are becoming more terrified.
Residents are worried that armed guys are assaulting the correctional institution, and there is widespread concern about the situation.
According to Joshua Friday, a resident of the region, who spoke with a NigerianWatch reporter, the gunfire has been going on for the last twenty minutes.
He said that the scenario had sparked widespread fear across the region.
He said, “We are in Kuje, and the firing has been going on for over twenty minutes.” We have heard multiple gunshots in the general vicinity of the jail. Still, I cannot tell you whether this is related to an attempted heist. Everyone in this room is shaking with fear as I talk to you.
Umar Abubakar, the spokesman for the Nigerian Correctional Service, requested that our reporter phone him back after being called.
Calls to Josephine Adeh’s telephone were unanswered, making it impossible to get in touch with her in her capacity as the police spokesman for the FCT. Additionally, she has not replied to any of the texts that have been sent to her.
