Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has traveled to Europe yet again, though his exact destination is unknown.
However, our correspondent has learned that the governor may have traveled to the United Kingdom, specifically London.
Outside of Nigeria, London has recently become the Governor’s preferred destination.
His other option is Spain, where the state government has a partnership with the top Champions League winner, Real Madrid Football Club.
The state government established a Real Madrid Academy in Port Harcourt, which is now accepting applications.
Wike had earlier addressed a televised media chat in Government House, Port Harcourt, where he opened what can only be described as a can of worms.
The Governor of the crude oil and gas-rich state was said to have taken a chattered flight from Port Harcourt International Airport around midnight on Friday.
On Saturday morning, a top government official who requested anonymity confirmed the governor’s departure to our correspondent.
“He (Wike) did travel last night.” “But I don’t know where he’s going,” he explained.
Several revelations were made by the governor during the feverish media chat on Friday.
One of these was when the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, offered him a Senate seat during their meeting in London last month.
