Super Falcons star, Kanu, revealed that she sold 'pure water' and oranges in Aba
Uchenna Kanu, the forward for the Super Falcons, has opened up about her past, sharing that she used to sell sachet water (commonly referred to as "pure water") and oranges on the streets of Aba, Abia State.
In a recent video posted on her TikTok page, the 26-year-old Racing Louisville striker disclosed that she engaged in hawking alongside her brother, who sold soda drinks. She also mentioned that they had an enjoyable time while doing so.
She reminisced, saying, "When I was younger, I used to vend oranges. I'd peel them, place them in a tray, balance it on my head, and stroll through the streets of Aba, selling them.
"And, I also peddled water. To our Nigerian viewers, I sold both 'pure water' and 'ice water.' I'd accompany my brother, who hawked soda, including Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Pepsi. Sometimes, while hawking in the market, we'd unexpectedly run into each other, and we'd exclaim, 'Hey!' We'd share a laugh and then go our separate ways."
Kanu's rise to prominence began when she represented Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She made her debut with the Super Falcons in 2019.
