Siasia Calls Mikel Obi Stubborn in Revealing Remarks

Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, stated that Mikel Obi is stubborn.

Siasia shared this during a weekend podcast with former international Emmanuel Babayaro and journalist Mathew Edafe.

He mentioned that he has a hard time dealing with footballers who are stubborn.

“Mikel is somewhat off my list; he's stubborn. I don't have much patience for people like that. However, the good thing is that he played exceptionally well in the Olympics and led the team as captain,” said Siasia, a former Super Eagles striker.

While coaching Nigeria's Under-20 football team, Siasia won the African Youth Championship in 2005 and led the same team to the final of the U-20 World Cup that year in the Netherlands.

He also secured an Olympic silver medal in 2008 and a bronze medal in 2016 as coach of the U-23 team.

It's worth noting that the 56-year-old was appointed as Super Eagles coach in 2010, serving for one year, and then returned to the role in 2016.
