Zamfara shares N40,000 each to vulnerable residents

The Zamfara State Government has disbursed ₦40,000 each to 8,593 vulnerable beneficiaries* across the state. The confirmation came in a weekend statement by Sa’adatu Abdu Gusau, the AGILE coordinator in Zamfara.

According to the release, all recipients received the cash directly into their bank accounts, and withdrawals can be made immediately from ATMs. The statement read:

> “Zamfara State AGILE under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Dauda Lawal has disbursed the sum of ₦40,000 each to 8,593 beneficiaries across the state.”

Ms. Gusau added that all ATM cards have been activated, and beneficiaries can access their funds right away. She also outlined channels for complaints:

- Drop suggestions in AGILE suggestion boxes placed in all schools.
- Contact the GRM line: 09041328888
- CCT lead number: 09040528991
- Send an official letter to the Zamfara AGILE office.

This follows earlier economic stimulus actions by the state. On September 12, 2025, Governor Lawal launched the distribution of over *₦1 billion* in grants under the SABER program, aimed at boosting local businesses. The event took place at JB Yakubu Secretariat, Gusau.

SABER (State Action on Business Enabling Reforms) is a five‑year, performance‑based, multi‑sectoral initiative backed by the World Bank. It seeks to remove barriers, spur private enterprise, and create sustainable jobs in Zamfara. Under SABER:

- 2,000 beneficiaries received ₦150,000 each for nano‑ and micro‑businesses.
- 1,000 individuals in small‑ and medium‑sized businesses got ₦500,000 each.
- 60 people from medium‑ and large‑scale businesses are slated to receive ₦5 million each.

Earlier, in *December 2024*, Governor Lawal distributed roughly ₦5 billion to support the most vulnerable residents. That stimulus package, part of the COVID‑19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus program, reached *44,000 vulnerable individuals* across 14 local government areas as part of Zamfara’s empowerment agenda.
