The statement read, "The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to announce that power supply was successfully restored via the Kano-Hadejia 132kV transmission line at approximately 9.45 p.m. on Sunday, August 2024.
"Recall that the transmission line tripped on August 11, 2024, after a truck trailer collided with a tower in Gunduwawa Village, Gazewa Local Government Area, Kano State, cutting off power supply to Gagarawa and Hadejia Transmission Substations and causing power outages in several communities."
"TCN re-erected the tower on an emergency basis and successfully resumed bulk power transmission to the Hadejia and Gagarawa substations."
The company praised the Kano state government and the residents of the affected communities for their patience and understanding during the outages.
Blackouts and power outages have become a common occurrence in the country.
This has increased the burden on citizens in light of the current fuel shortages and food inflation in the country.
