Pelumi Nubi, prepares for a road trip from London to Lagos
UK-based Nigerian adventurer, Pelumi Nubi, is embarking on a solo road trip from London to Lagos, Nigeria. Pelumi Nubi, a content creator with a travel focus, shared her latest endeavor on her Instagram page. Having explored 80 countries, she is now gearing up for this unique journey.
Nubi stated that she is embracing this challenge to inspire fellow female solo travelers, especially black women, and to challenge preconceived notions about the limits of what can be achieved.
Her itinerary spans 17 countries over a two-month period, encompassing every city and landscape along the route. The journey commences in England, traverses through France, Spain, and Morocco, navigating the expansive West Sahara Desert. Subsequently, she plans to travel through Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, and Benin, culminating in her arrival in Lagos.
The journey is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, and conclude by the end of March.
The 29-year-old traveler characterized the adventure budget as a substantial investment following a year of planning and saving. In a podcast interview, Nubi disclosed that the entire trip's cost would range from $15,000 to $20,000, encompassing expenses for fuel, accommodation, and other essential needs. Regarding her mental preparation, she shared, "Truthfully, you're never 100% ready for something of this magnitude. My approach? Set a date and just go for it. Some days are filled with so much excitement, while on other days, not so much!"
Mr. Adeyanju embarked on a 41-day expedition from London to Lagos with the aim of raising donations to combat polio in Nigeria. The 44-year-old, who commenced his journey on April 19, 2023, successfully covered over 13,000 kilometers (8,000 miles) across 13 nations, achieving the distinction of being the first Nigerian to accomplish this feat.
