Militant Organization Addresses the Conflict Between Tinubu and Asari Dokubo
Niger Delta militants, operating under the banner of the Supreme Egbesu Freedom Fighters of Niger Delta (SEFFND), have refuted claims of a feud between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leader of the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the militant group's leader, who goes by the name General Agadagba 1, also known as River Don, accused certain unscrupulous oil pipeline contractors of financing the defamation campaign and spreading false rumors.
Agadagba emphasized that President Tinubu never prevented Dokubo-Asari from visiting the Presidential Villa in Abuja, countering the claims with the assertion that the rumor sponsors are motivated by envy towards Dokubo-Asari.
He stated, "The purpose of these blackmailers is to sow discord between Tinubu and Dokubo-Asari, using falsehood and slander to fuel tensions in the Niger Delta. They aim to create a fictitious rift between him and Tinubu through lies and baseless accusations."
Agadagba added, "It is evident that they are envious of Alhaji Dokubo-Asari's prominent role in the political arena and his commitment to supporting President Tinubu while rejecting any rebellious attacks or criticism."
The militant group called on the troublesome pipeline contractors to cease their negative activities or face consequences. They also urged the government to decentralize the allocation of oil pipeline surveillance contracts to include all key stakeholders and ethnic groups in the Niger Delta, promoting lasting peace and security in the region.
