Edo 2024: Female LP Gubernatorial Aspirant Calls for Disruption

Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, a female contender in the upcoming Edo 2024 gubernatorial election, is pushing for increased participation of women in partisan politics.

Expressing her desire to secure the Labour Party ticket for the state's gubernatorial race, Loretta highlighted the issue that many Nigerian women tend to be sidelined during election seasons.

The aspirant emphasized that it is high time for women to claim their rightful place in politics.

Oduware Ogboro-Okor made these remarks shortly after publicly announcing her candidacy for the Edo 2024 governorship election on Monday at the LP secretariat in Benin.

She emphasized, "Many women find themselves relegated to the background, and it's high time we step forward into the political arena. We need to be at the decision-making table, ready to bring about positive change."

Expressing gratitude, she added, "We appreciate the support of our male counterparts who are standing with us to illuminate the state. It's heartening to see our male allies ready to rally behind us."
