UAE lifts visa ban on Nigerians
The UAE government has officially eliminated visa restrictions on Nigerians, with immediate effect.Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, informed State House media on Monday following the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
Idris stated that the Federal Government and UAE authorities have achieved an agreement to lift travel restrictions on Nigerians with immediate effect.
The minister announced that Nigerian passport holders can now travel to the UAE without any restrictions. He also advised Nigerians who want more information on the amended UAE visa conditions to visit documentverificationhub.ae.
He stated, "I can tell you that the deal has been reached, and Nigerian passport holders who want to travel to the UAE can do so starting today.
"You are aware that Nigeria has been in discussions with the UAE over visas for Nigerian passport holders visiting the UAE.
"An agreement was reached today, and Nigerian passport holders will be able to obtain visas to visit the United Arab Emirates beginning today, July 15th."
"Details of that will be provided to you later today when we put out a statement."
It should be noted that the UAE imposed the visa restriction on Nigeria in response to many diplomatic issues.

Additionally, Dubai's Emirates Airline ceased flights to Nigeria because the Central Bank of Nigeria was unable to send an estimated $85 million in income to the UAE.
In June, after multiple talks with the UAE administration, the Federal administration told Nigerians that the visa ban would be lifted soon.
During the same month, the Nigerian government announced that it had paid out 98 percent of $850 million.
