Eid-el-Fitr: Head of NCPC Encourages Muslims to Advocate for Love and Peace

Rev. Stephen Adegbite, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, has urged Muslims across the country to promote interfaith harmony, peace, and love. He further encouraged collaboration between Muslims and the federal and state governments to improve governance in Nigeria.

Adegbite's remarks were conveyed in a press release issued on Tuesday by Celestine Toruka, the commission's Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations. In the statement, Adegbite commended the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of Ramadan fasting and stressed the importance of praying for Nigeria and its leaders. Additionally, he called upon Muslims to pray for the success of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

In the statement, it was expressed, "Bishop Stephen Adegbite, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, extends congratulations to the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr celebration."

"Bishop Adegbite also praised Muslims for their dedicated completion of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, acknowledging the spiritual benefits it brings in strengthening their faith and belief in God. He encouraged them to promote interfaith harmony, peace, and love among individuals of different faiths. Additionally, he urged Muslim faithful to work in collaboration with the federal and state governments to improve governance in Nigeria."

Furthermore, Bishop Adegbite stressed the significance of persisting in prayer for Nigeria and its leaders. He urged Muslims to pray for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and to perceive the government as partners in progress.

The head of NCPC also encouraged them to refrain from anything that could jeopardize the nation's interests and to actively support positive initiatives "so that together we can all benefit from the dividends of democracy."
