Customs names new key management appointments
Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of Customs, has approved several key management appointments within the Nigeria Customs Service, following the statutory retirement of some members of the management team.These appointments are made in an acting capacity as part of a strategic redeployment to improve service delivery.
Abdullahi Maiwada, the service's National Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
Adeniyi announced B.M. Jibo's appointment as Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Finance, Administration, and Technical Services.
"OA Alajogun, acting DCG enforcement, inspection and investigation; IG Umar, acting ACG headquarters; OA Salefu, acting Assistant Comptroller-General, training and doctrine command; BA Makinde, acting ACG, human resource development; Timi Bomodi, acting ACG enforcement, inspection and investigation," he said.
The CGC also stated that the appointments reflected the officers' exceptional service and dedication to the NCS.
"The service remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance," according to him.
Adeniyi thanked the retired members of the management team for their valuable service. He urged the newly appointed officers to step up their efforts to help the Nigeria Customs Service achieve greater success in its core mandates of revenue generation, smuggling suppression, and trade facilitation.
