Benue State Police are investigating the death of an unidentified woman discovered at a dumpsite
The Benue State Police Command has initiated an inquiry following the discovery of the body of a young woman, yet to be identified, at a refuse dump in Makurdi.
SP Catherine Anene, the State Police Public Relations Officer, stated, "We have launched an investigation into the incident. The victim's identity remains unknown."
She assured that the command is committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding her death.
The lifeless body, discovered on Sunday, had been bound, placed inside a sack, and left at a refuse dump near Iorapuu Adai Street, Nyima Hudco Quarters, Makurdi.
In July 2023, the Benue State Environmental Sanitation Agency and the Benue Police Command confirmed the tragic death of Dorcas Shangev. The woman, aged in her 30s, was found deceased, with some of her body parts missing, just 24 hours after celebrating her birthday. At the time, she had been residing in the Owner Occupier area within the Makurdi metropolis of the state capital.
