Peter Obi expresses condolences over Mr Ibu's passing
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, expresses grief over the passing of veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu.
In a condolence message shared on his X, formerly Twitter, handle on Sunday, Obi emphasized that Mr. Ibu's demise is a significant loss, not only to the entertainment industry but also to the nation.
His tweet included, "His death is profoundly saddening. He was a legendary comic actor who personified laughter, radiated joy, and spread happiness.
"When he unfortunately fell ill, we collectively prayed for his swift recovery, hoping for his return to good health."
His passing is a substantial loss, impacting not only the entertainment sector but the entire nation.
The artists who uplift the nation's spirits also play a crucial role in guiding us through life's challenging moments.

Mr. Ibu, renowned for his comedic performances in movies and skits, was officially declared deceased on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at a hospital in Lagos, following a cardiac arrest.
His demise occurred less than 24 hours after the passing of another actor, Quadri Oyebamiji, also known as Sisi Quadri, in Osun State.
