Comprehensive Compilation of States That Did Not Generate Revenue from Local Government Areas in 202

In 2022, nine states collectively generated N48.7 billion in revenue from local governments. Oyo took the lead, generating N11.8 billion, closely followed by Lagos with N11.5 billion.


Other notable contributors to this revenue pool included Jigawa, Rivers, and Edo, bringing in N8.7 billion, N2.5 billion, and N2.4 billion, respectively.


On the flip side, some states reported relatively lower revenue figures. Akwa Ibom ranked lowest, generating N55.2 million, followed by Ebonyi at N58.9 million. Imo, Borno, and Kogi also fell on the lower end, recording N65.6 million, N66.7 million, and N89.8 million, respectively.
